Oktoberfest, held in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, is one of the biggest folk festivals in the world, which commenced on the 16th of September, 2017, and will go on till the 3rd October, 2017. This is the festival for people who are all about food, dancing and beer. In a span of two weeks, an approximate total of 8 million liters of beer is consumed during the festival, by about six million people, most of them being visitors.

It is held in a field, right outside the city center of Munich, with a variety of pretzels, sausages and chicken. People are dressed in their most traditional Bavarian gear and the visitors get to enjoy the most colourful parades, in addition to the various kinds of delicious beer. To avoid a faux pas, it is the best to be a little acquainted with the Bavarian traditions and culture. You don’t really want to be a fish out of water.
