The Globetrotter’s Glossary: Word of the Day is Interpretentious
Variables: Interpretension; Interpretence
Definition: One who pretends to take upon the burden of interpreting almost anything.
Example: Dr. John Watson’s entry from December 23, 2019 read as follows: “In the long absence of a case to occupy him, Sherlock had grown obsessively interpretentious. Little did I know he was keeping an eye on every digital footprint on my Facebook timeline, and whosoever failed to respond to or shower hearts upon my otherwise minimal activity, would inevitably be thrust into his circle of suspicion.”
