Skye C Cleary’s first book Existentialism and Romantic Love was released in 2015 with Palgrave Macmillan. She lectures at Columbia University and the City College of New York and previously at Barnard College, Baruch College, and the New York Public Library. She is an advisory board member of Strategy of Mind, Managing Editor of the American Philosophical Association’s blog, and a certified fellow with the American Philosophical Practitioners Association. Prior to academia, she was an international equity arbitrageur and management consultant. She has a PhD and an MBA, cares about marine conservation, and loves scuba diving, yoga, and cocktails.
A less well-known facet of her philosophy, particularly relevant today, is her political activism, a viewpoint that follows directly from her metaphysical stance on the self, namely that we have no fixed essences.
