Born in Bombay in 1940, Adil Jussawalla spent a number of years in England as a student and as a teacher. He returned to Bombay in 1970. His travels have taken him to various places in India and abroad, not all of them cities. His articles and essays have appeared in several newspapers and magazines and four books, published between 1962 and 2012, have his poems. His latest, published by Poetrywala, is a chapbook, Gulestan.
He lives with his wife Veronik in Bombay.
