The Globetrotter’s Glossary: Word of the Day is Oenophilanderer

Oenophilanderer (N.)

Variables: Oenophilandering.

Roots: Oenophile & Philanderer (Click on the links to find the meanings of the root words on Merriam-Webster Dictionary).

Definition: A travelling or roaming connoisseur of wines, who shifts loyalty from one vintage to another

Example: The inability of Niles Crane to lay bare his heart before Daphne Moon is partly due to his oenophilandering nature–which of course he shares with his brother Frasier Crane–; if only he loved his wines any less, he could have secured the love of Miss Moon sooner in life.
