Definition: A mirage of incense–an olfactory sensation of a smell which is elusive or illusory.

Example: Walking through the countryside of Vietnam, was a mystifying experience for Josh, who had gone there to seek examples of colonial architecture or vestiges of American occupation, but the miragincense of the woods and the distant cottages kept distracting him.
