The Globetrotter’s Glossary: Word of the Day is Garniche

Garniche (N. & V.)

Variables: None.

Roots: Garnish & Niche (Click on the links to find the meanings of the root words on Merriam Webster Dictionary).

Definition: A garnishing — or the act of garnishing — that only a very few people can appreciate.

Example: Clarissa’s sole means of finding a soulmate was to display her thyme-cherry-asafoetida garniche each time a prospective suitor came over, for she believed only he who would feel truly excited seeing it, could appreciate her inner spirit, rather than merely consume her whimsically.
