Rabindranath Tagore

Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941), was Nobel-laureate, poet, author, musician (composer-writer), philosopher, artist, and educator, best known for writing Gitanjali (1912). His first collection Kabi Kahini (Tale of a Poet) was published in 1878. His other notable works include Katha O Kahini (1900), Naivedya (1901), Kheya (1906), Raja (1910), Dak-ghar (1912), The Crescent Moon (1913), Gitimalya (1914), Songs of Kabîr (1915), Stray Birds (1916), Sadhana: The Realisation of Life (1916), The Gardener (1915), and Ghare-Baire (1915). He was the founder of the Viswabharati University at Santiniketan, West Bengal.
