Though engulfed in mist
I stand tall with clinging mosses
Though years old
With boughs spread
Crowned with evergreen foliage
Bearing the Darjeeling chill
Under the reflection of Mighty Kanchenjunga
And the rising sun of the Tiger Hill
Resonating whistle and chuk chuk
Of the ancient toy train
Humming of the Dali monastery
With expectant eyes
For some solivagant wanderer
Who’ll seek to gulp the sweetest nectar
I form
Only some feel the essence
Others only lust.
